As evening falls, they come with a sound like the rustling of leaves. A breeze stirs and shadows flicker. First a sigh, then whispering, oh-so-distant chattering, laughing, weeping. Tiny voices. What are they saying?

Will you let them in?

They are lonely. They are hungry. They are cold. Little fingers tap-tapping. Little nails scratching. Is the window closed? Is the key turned in the lock?

Will you let them in?
